Responsibilities

Penetration Testing: Perform comprehensive security assessments on networks, applications, and infrastructures to discover vulnerabilities.
Exploitation: Safely exploit vulnerabilities to demonstrate the potential impact of real attacks.
Documentation: Produce high-quality reports detailing findings, assessing risks, and recommending solutions.
Collaboration: Work with IT and development teams to verify remediation of vulnerabilities and ensure secure coding practices.
Security Awareness: Contribute to internal security training by sharing knowledge and best practices from penetration testing experiences.
Tool Development: Keep up with and occasionally develop custom scripts or tools to aid in testing procedures.
Compliance: Ensure all testing aligns with legal standards and business policies, including GDPR compliance when relevant.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
Experience: At least 3 years in cybersecurity, with hands-on experience in penetration testing.
Certifications: Preferred certifications include CEH, OSCP, or similar. Additional certifications like CISSP or CREST are advantageous.
Skills:
Proficient in using penetration testing tools like Metasploit, Nmap, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, etc.
Knowledge of operating systems, networking, and common security frameworks.
Ability to script in languages like Python, Ruby, or Bash for automation or custom tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ethical hacking mindset.
Attributes: Methodical, detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to learning and adapting.
